The Pumphouse Block is on the far side of Temperance Hill, a steep east facing slope that catches the morning sun and is the first of the older vines at Temperance to bud out every spring, producing an elegant, typically more red fruited and mineral expression of Temperance Hill. - Marcus Goodfellow

A cascade of violet and lavender gives way to hints of white pepper, wild blueberry and crushed stone as the 2022 Pinot Noir Temperance Hill Pumphouse Block blossoms in the glass. This is a model of purity, revealing an herbal tinge up front as tart red berry fruits and cedar spices slowly fade. This tapers off with tension, only gently tannic, with a cheek-puckering sensation that lingers on.
